WORKSHOPS

“To teach is to learn twice”

- Joseph Joubert

Having taught many blacksmiths and farriers while at Olds College for 7 years, Jeri is comfortable in front of a crowd of learners and really enjoys teaching.

Guest clinicians from across North America have brought their knowledge to share with blacksmiths from the prairies, BC, the Pacific Northwest states, and even the Atlantic provinces.

A varying range of topics are focused on in workshops at the forge.

Introductory classes

One to two days at the forge in small classes offer 1 on 1 focus. Students discover the fundamentals of forge work and tool use.

Intermediate classes

Those returning to the forge for more intensive sessions stand to gain knowledge in building tools including hammers, tongs, drifts others  fundamental to the craft.
